After completing the England boxing level one course today. I jetted over too Brixton Police Station, Lambeth, London for a tour of the Police station and to meet the staff and MET Police boxing coaches/boxing tutors delivering the GB Boxing Awards at the Lambeth boxing awards project taking place in Angel Town, Brixton. I wish you could all see their faces when I walked in with Great Britain Olympians Joseph Joyce (Silver medalist) and Joshua Buatsi (Bronze medalist). There were lots of congratulations and picture taking from the community force. We then headed down to the arches to surprise the community volunteers and children of the Brixton Community at Dwaynamics.
The youngsters knew I was bringing Christmas presents and medals but did not realise they would be receiving them from Olympic Boxing Medalist Joseph Joyce and Joshua Buatsi two of the nicest people you could ever meet. They spent time talking to the kids as they handed out presents and medals to the local community of Brixton’s Angell Town.
Massive thank you to Pastor Lorraine Jones who is the force behind Dwaynamics Lambeth Boxing Awards programme working closely with community members from Angell Town, London. Also thank you to Lambeth Met Police boss Detective Superintendent Sean Oxley and head Boxing coach Richard Davis and his team of Boxing tutors and Boxing coaches. The difference they are making to the young people in their local community is truly unbelievable. Communities are coming together because of their support and hard work. And lastly thank you to local MP Helen Hayes for supporting the cause. Great team work 👊🏾💥
