Testimonial from Rebecca Parrett – Vice Principal, Hamble Community Sports College
GB Non-contact Boxing
Staff and Junior Sports Leaders are very excited to be involved in a new venture here at Hamble College. We have hooked up with Network Rail to train staff and students to become GB non-contact boxing award tutors. GB Boxing performance and England Talent Development coach Q Shillingford MBE delivered the course which was funded by Network Rail. We learnt how to deliver fitness, warm ups and non-contact boxing techniques in a fun and exciting way. There was lots of laugher mixed in with the training that was extremely informative. We were also taught the discipline and responsibility of boxing as a sport. We all passed with flying colours. The training will be on-going until January when we hope to roll out the GB non-contact boxing programme to all students in the college. We will be giving presentations in assemblies to all year groups throughout December. This is an on-going project that will be supported by Network Rail.
Q informed us that the students were a credit to the college and it had been a pleasure to train us all.
